Collagen biostimulators are injectable substances that activate the body's own natural collagen production, treating skin laxity and progressively restoring firmness, support, and radiance to the skin — unlike traditional filler, which delivers immediate volume.
The two most established biostimulators on the market are made of different substances: one is composed of poly-L-lactic acid, with a slower onset of action and maximum effect reached from the first month onward; the other is composed of calcium hydroxyapatite, with noticeable improvement already in the first few weeks, thanks to a more viscous composition that also provides some local volume. The choice between them is made during the personalized consultation, considering each patient's goal, treatment area, and skin characteristics.
It is indicated to improve skin texture, treat skin laxity, soften wrinkles and expression lines (such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines), and improve facial contour. The greater the degree of skin laxity, the more sessions may be needed to achieve the desired result.
The application is performed with very fine needles in-office, and the patient returns to daily activities on the same day. Post-procedure care includes specific massages in the following days (as guided during the consultation), which help distribute the product evenly and prevent the formation of nodules.
